Jimmy is a proud Marine, but when his service ended in 1992, he also stopped exercising. Fast forward 24 years to this past spring when he was sitting in his doctor's office and being told he had high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood sugar. Instead of asking for a prescription, Jimmy immediately vowed to start exercising again. He lives in Pearland and comes to Memorial Park on Saturdays for his long runs. Now that his blood levels have stabilized and he has lost 35 pounds, his goal is to be able to run a 5K as fast as he could when he was on active duty. That would have seemed impossible to him a year ago, but given his incredible transformation, he is convinced it is easily within reach now.
